Perhaps if they new how to make a good bagel they would still be there. I just do not get why so many folks think they can open a restaurant and offer poor products and service. The public is smarter than that.

That is sad to hear. I thought they had great service and that the food was pretty good. I prefer Cupertinos and live downtown so that made it difficult to frequent them.

I think a great bagel shop could thrive in Carytown, but I’m sorry this wasn’t it (even their signage, you could barely find the place.) A great bagel shop would need tasty bagels, really good coffee, early weekday hours (catch the commuters on their way downtown!), and comfy outdoor seating (would be a nice way to start your day before grocery shopping or hitting the shops on Cary St, no?)…could be a big hit with the Saturday shoppers and kid-friendly Sunday brunch crowd. Hope another bagel shop gives it a run in Carytown soon…otherwise we’re trekking to Einstein’s at Libbie… Read more »

I thought Jaks bagels were pretty good and I was happy to finally have a bagel place in the Carytown area. Sad to see them go. Bodo’s of Charlottesville is amazing…I second Lauren’s vote to have them come to Richmond!
