James W. Clark Jr. was promoted to senior associate. Clark has been with the firm for four years and specializes in industrial brokerage.

Yasmine Hamad was promoted to vice president. Hamad has been with the firm nine years and specializes in retail and land brokerage.

Deborah Stearns joined Jones Lang LaSalle as a senior vice president. She has more than 30 years of industry experience. Most recently, Stearns was a senior vice president at Harvey Lindsay Commercial Real Estate. She attended Old Dominion University and the University of Virginia.

Theresa Johnson has been named the new executive director of the Northside Family YMCA. She will be responsible for the overall management of the facility and community relations. Johnson previously served as regional director of development for the Chester Family YMCA.

United Methodist Family Services announced the following new hires:

Linda Callahan joined as an adoption parent liaison in the Northern Virginia Regional Center. She was previously with Hope Health Systems.

Michael Mabe joined as an evening youth counselor in the child and family healing center. He was previously with Chesterfield Parks and Recreation.

Julie Simpson joined as a substitute social coach in the Courage to Succeed program at Charterhouse School.

Jennifer Horn joined as an administrative assistant in the adoptive family preservation program. She was previously with Summit Community Bank.

Erin Pace joined as an evening youth counselor in the child and family healing center. She was previously with Independent Capacity Systems.

Keara Chambers joined as a case support specialist in the Richmond regional center. She was previously with Higgins House at Westminster Canterbury.

Brandy Creer joined as an overnight youth counselor in the child and family healing center. She was previously with Chesterfield County Mental Health.

Kandise Nadine Lucas joined as a science teacher at Charterhouse School. She was previously with the Department of Correctional Education.

Hilda Rothman joined as a clinical support specialist in the Fredericksburg Regional Center. She was previously with Arlington County Department of Human Services.

Awais Mahmood joined the firm as a project designer in the firm’s hospitality group. Mahmood attended the New York Institute of Technology and was previously an architectural CAD designer for Oliveira Contracting INC in New York.

Jean Giddens has been named dean of the Virginia Commonwealth University School of Nursing, effective June 30. Giddens currently serves as professor and executive dean of the College of Nursing at the University of New Mexico. She succeeds Nancy F. Langston, who will retire this summer.

Before joining KLMK, Lora was the owner and senior medical planner of 4CAST Planning. Schwartz attended Clemson University and North Carolina State University.

Hunton & Williams promoted the following people to counsel:

Sherry Y. Hutter’s practice focuses on capital markets and securities, asset securitization, structured finance and related corporate finance transactions. Hutter also has experience working on public finance transactions with an emphasis on tax-exempt financing.

Rachel W. Northup focuses her practice on representing public and private companies in connection with mergers and acquisitions, securities offerings and corporate and securities laws. Before joining Hunton & Williams, she served as a judicial clerk for the Honorable Elizabeth B. Lacy, Supreme Court of Virginia, from 2005 to 2006.
