After more than 30 years in business, local wine shop Strawberry Street Vineyard closed its doors last week.
The store at 407 Strawberry St. held its final day of business on April 26, owner Emily Jones said.
“It was just so many factors,” Jones said.
Jones and her mother bought the wine shop in 2011 from Henry Reidy. Reidy had owned the business since 1999, when he bought it from Richard Carew.
Strawberry Street Vineyard was founded in 1979, according to the company’s website. The shop sold wine, beer and appetizers.
The space is owned by the trustees of Allison S. Heverin and William M. Bridgforth, according to city records. It was most recently assessed at $457,000.
The space is on the market. Spotts & Carneal has the listing.
