“I’m trying to rebuild a little bit of the trust with my community that was lost,” said Coqui Cyclery owner Clint Kronenberger.
Less than two years after opening its first local store near Short Pump, a used Legos retailer is building a presence south of the river.
The first building would be followed by a second one to create the Bell Creek Medical Pavilion with a total of 73,000 square feet of Class-A medical office space.
It would be the franchise’s Richmond-area location, joining others in Virginia in Charlottesville, Fairfax, Reston and Lynchburg.
The push to make the company’s leafy greens available across Food Lion’s entire footprint of 1,100 stores in the Mid-Atlantic and South comes as it plans for a $25 million expansion at its West Creek indoor farming facility.
The store has been operating in the 8,000-square-foot building at the corner of Hull Street and Cowardin Avenue for years.
“The concept is you’re immersing yourself in the virtual world,” said Gene. “It’s about as cool as you can get. As cool as you can get in a geeky kind of way.”
The proposed move would mean a potential sale of the nonprofit’s prime 2-acre property overlooking Swan Lake and Shields Lake. It was most recently assessed by the city at $18 million.
