Richmond’s newest skyscraper has landed three new tenants.
Accounting firm Cherry, Bekaert & Holland leased 21,000 square feet in the Williams Mullen building on 10th and Canal Streets downtown, according to the commercial brokerage firm Thalhimer.
Cherry, Bekeart & Holland currently has an office at 1700 Bayberry Court in the Glenside area of Henrico County. BizSense could not reach the company by press time.
Meanwhile, Thalhimer said investment firm Agincourt Capital Management leased 6,630 square feet. The company currently has an office at 600 E. Main St. downtown. The company declined to comment about the new space, saying that the firm, “Does not talk to the press.”
And on the ground floor, bakery/cafe La Parisienne leased 2,350 square feet.
The 258,000-square-foot Williams Mullen building was finished earlier this year. The Richmond-based law firm occupies about half the space.
Jeff Cooke, a senior vice president at Thalhimer, said only about 14,000 square feet of office space and about 2,000 square feet of retail space remain available in the 16-story building.
“We’re just about out [of space],” said Cooke. “The building has done very well.”
The building is owned and was developed by Hampton-Roads based Armada Hoffler. (You can read more about the building in a Times-Dispatch story here).
Cooke said the CB&H deal had been in the works for some time. CB&H will occupy the ninth floor and the build out of the space is underway. The firm will move in sometime in 2011.
Agincourt is taking a portion of the eighth floor.
La Parisienne, which is locally owned, will take about half of the available first floor retail space. Construction should begin soon on the space and the café will likely open around near the end of the first quarter 2011.
Cooke said there are some prospects for the remainder of the space in the building, though nothing concrete.
“We’re talking to a number of people on both the retail and the office,” Cooke said.

Congrats on the lease up of the building! Never underestimate a brand new skyscraper with plenty of parking. Maybe they can lease the rest of the space to the federal reserve bank because it seems like Armada Hoffler is printing money….
