A new division within McGuireWoods’ public affairs and lobbying arm will be led by a former attorney general and a former TV reporter.
McGuireWoods Consulting said today announced that it has created a crisis and litigation communications practice and has chosen former Virginia Attorney General Jerry Kilgore and former NBC 12 reporter Mark Hubbard to lead the new group.
MWC handles public relations and lobbying for big corporations and trade organizations. In addition to Richmond, it has offices in Washington D.C., McLean, Atlanta, Chicago, Raleigh, Springfield, Ill., and Bucharest, Romania
Kilgore, who was Virginia’s attorney general from 2002 to 2005, joined MWC in January 2010 after a stint at Williams Mullen.
Since his on-camera days ended, Hubbard was most recently public relations officer at Virginia Credit Union.
MWC President L.F. Payne said of the new unit and its leaders:
“The courtroom and media are two very different arenas with equally significant implications for companies and organizations. Mark and Jerry have established a terrific working relationship that bridges the court of law and court of public opinion.”
