Among the 50 fastest growing companies in the state, none were based in Richmond, according to a list released last week by Virginia Business magazine.
Virginia Business’ Fantastic 50 lists the fasting growing companies in Virginia based on revenue growth over the four year period from 2006 to 2009.
Forty of the 50 companies on the list are in Northern Virginia, according to Virginia Business. Of the remaining 11, 10 are in Hampton Roads and one is based in Blacksburg.
IT and government contracting firms comprised most of the list.
At the top of the list was NetWitness Corp., a network security company based in Reston that posted 7,751 percent revenue growth between 2006 and 2009.
The runner-up was Octo Consulting Group of Vienna with 2,651 percent revenue growth during the relevant four-year period.
The minimum revenue growth rate among the top 50 was 134 percent.
