Four score and seven years — wait, more like a few months ago, Richmond played host to the big Hollywood production of Steven Spielberg’s upcoming film “Lincoln.”
Richmonders can finally get at least a glimpse of how the River City will look on the big screen: The first trailer for the movie was released Friday.
The film features Daniel Day-Lewis as Abraham Lincoln, and the cast includes Tommy Lee Jones, Sally Field and Joseph Gordon-Levitt.
“Lincoln” will hit theaters nationwide Nov. 16.
The film is an adaptation of “Team of Rivals: The Political Genius of Abraham Lincoln,” a book by Doris Kearns Goodwin.
Local filming took place in Richmond and Petersburg, including at the State Capitol. Plenty of bearded Richmonders sought work as extras in the production.
