A 40-year-old Richmond hotel is getting a facelift.
The Clarion Hotel at 3207 N. Boulevard, just up the road from the Diamond, has workers on scaffolding doing work on the property’s facade. A hotel employee said the exterior of the building is getting a redesign.
Building permits detailing the work being done were not available online.
The 176-room hotel was built in 1973. It is owned by DK Hospitality LLC, according to city records. The LLC is registered to Rasik Kotadia, who also runs the hotel.
The 122,000-square-foot property, which includes a 25,000-square-foot parking deck, was most recently assessed at $2.88 million. It last changed hands in 2007, when it sold for $2.21 million. Its assessed value peaked at $4.92 million in 2008.
