The multicolored lights are back on at a Carytown frozen yogurt spot.
The Yapple Yogurt at 3131-3 W. Cary St. reopened Nov. 22 after being locked out of its storefront for three days.
During the temporary closing, a sign on the door said the tenant, Yapple Yogurt of Carytown LLC, was in default of its lease.
Scott Yu, who runs the Carytown location as well as the Yapple Yogurt in Willow Lawn, said that he is working out a new lease with the landlord, Spotts & Carneal, and that he had made a deposit in order to reopen in the space.
Yu said he will keep the store open as a Yapple but is in the process of leaving the company to start his own brand of frozen yogurt.
Austin Joy of Spotts & Carneal would not comment on his firm’s plans for the space.
The Carytown Yapple location opened in summer 2012 next door to a Sweet Frog fro-yo shop.
