BizSense is trying something new.
After covering the nitty gritty of Richmond business news for eight years, we’ve decided it’s time to give some attention to another side of local businesspeople’s lives.
We’re proud to introduce a new twice-monthly feature called Downtime – telling the unique stories of what Richmonders do when the deals are done, the weekend arrives and your out-of-office email response is triggered.
Every two weeks, Downtime will highlight a member of the local business community who has an interesting pastime, side project or passion outside of work.
At its heart, Downtime will help us find out what makes local businesspeople tick, where they find inspiration and how they blow off steam. We want to show BizSense readers how the hardworking people that keep the business news flowing fill their calendars after 5 p.m. on Friday.
Maybe you’re a desk jockey who needs a weekend adrenaline rush to start the work week, or a business owner who heads to a secret retreat to clear your head. Maybe you have an unbelievable model train set up in your basement or a band practice space in your garage.
Whether you have an extreme workout regimen or get your kicks relaxing on your boat, we want to hear from you.
We’ve enlisted Lisa Crutchfield, a seasoned local features writer, to hunt these stories down and bring them to life.
And we also need help from you. So to all our loyal BizSense readers, if you care to share what you do in your downtime, or if you have a co-worker or friend that fits the bill, get in touch.
Feel free to email questions or send ideas to [email protected].
Downtime will launch in January to ring in the New Year, so keep the ideas coming.
