A new shop in the Fan aims to make Richmonders feel better, both inside and out.
Boketto Wellness, which owner Jelena Nikolajevic describes as a “modern apothecary,” opened last month at 106 N. Vine St. and had a grand opening event last weekend.
The shop sells herbal supplements, topical balms and oils and other goods, both in store and online.
“We have curated things for internal and external health,” Nikolajevic said.

It also offers closed-off rooms for acupuncture and massage therapy. Though Nikolajevic was an acupuncturist in New York City for the last seven years, she isn’t practicing out of the space – two massage therapists and an acupuncturist are using the rooms.
Boketto is leasing the 1,400-square-foot space, which Nikolajevic said she found through broker Ann Schweitzer of One South Realty. Nikolajevic said she invested $50,000 into opening the shop.
Aside from operational costs, Nikolajevic said she was drawn to Richmond because of the small business community. Boketto carries products from local brands like Maven Made and Na Nin, and Nikolajevic said she plans to host workshops on herbal medicine, meditation and aromatherapy.
Nikolajevic said she’ll also look to add a juice bar to the shop.
All of the furniture and renovation in Boketto was built by Nikolajevic and her boyfriend, who she said is involved in the new climbing gym coming to the Sports Center of Richmond near the Diamond.
