A Minnesota real estate investor has checked into Henrico.
The Virginia Crossings Hotel and Conference Center at 1000 Virginia Center Parkway was purchased June 30 for $18 million.
Henrico County property records list the buyer as OCI Virginia Crossings LLC, an entity tied to Oliver Cos., a Duluth, Minnesota-based real estate firm that owns dozens of hotels and apartments nationwide.
Virginia Crossings general manager Wende Blumberg confirmed the sale: “We’re under new ownership and pleased to be so.”
Oliver Cos. couldn’t be reached for comment. The company’s hotel portfolio includes properties with brands like Hampton Inn, Embassy Suites and Hilton Garden Inn.
Virginia Crossings was built in 1982, and formerly was called the Wyndham Virginia Crossings Hotel and Conference Center. It sits on 20 acres and features 183 rooms, two restaurants and a conference center.
The purchase included two adjacent buildings, Madison Hall and Monroe Hall, which feature more rooms and a restaurant.
Rooms at the hotel are currently going for $170 to $185, according to its website.
Last August, the hotel’s neighbor, The Crossings Golf Club, was sold to a local buyer for $1.75 million in an unrelated deal.
Virginia Crossings is at least the second hotel to trade hands in Henrico in 2017. In March, Lingerfelt CommonWealth Partners purchased the Richmond Marriott Short Pump for $38.5 million.
