Editor’s Note: Calling all local privately held companies

private companies surveyIt’s that time of year again.

Richmond BizSense is making its annual call to all locally based, privately held companies as we compile our biggest and most comprehensive BizSense List of the year.

On Jan. 2, we’ll publish our ranking of Richmond’s Top Private Companies, a tally of hundreds of local firms that highlights their employee growth year over year.

This popular list serves several functions, including as a directory for the local business community, and as a tool for sales leads and intel about competitors for 2019.

Ranked by total local employees, the list includes data such as top local executives, contact info and total headcount companywide. (Click here for a snippet of last year’s rankings)

We hope this note will encourage you – if you haven’t done so already – to make sure your firm is on the list.

If your company already has participated in one of our other lists this year, we’ll automatically input you onto the private company rankings by using much of the information you previously entered. Our researcher already should have checked in with you to update vital figures for the rankings, in case something has changed since we last heard from you.

If your firm is new to BizSense Lists, here’s a link to the survey that will ensure you’re not left off.

The deadline for submissions is Dec. 28.

If you have any questions or want to submit updated info, please email our researcher Michelle Pearson at [email protected].

Like our other lists, this one is available only to subscribers of BizSense Pro, our premium data service.

Annual subscriptions are available for individual and bulk users, and we also offer a day pass, allowing one-time access to a single list. Please email our research editor Linda Dunham with any questions about subscriptions at [email protected].

Thanks to everyone who participated in our various lists in 2018. Our goal with this data is to provide a snapshot of different industries and the Richmond business scene over the course of the year.

The 26 lists in 2018 thus far have driven tens of thousands of page views from our readers and we’re excited to see how the rankings ebb and flow in 2019.
