More office space is on deck for Scott’s Addition, as a local entrepreneur is diving further into the real estate business.
Andrew Flint, owner of decorative woodworking company Method Woodworking and Design, and salon chain Hive Salon Studios, this month purchased the building at 3410-3412 W. Leigh St. through his Flint Holdings LLC.
He paid $750,000 for the 10,500-square-foot building, which houses Method and Fultz & Singh Architects.
Flint said while Fultz & Singh will stay put, he’ll likely move out and close Method to make way for more office space, which has been in demand in the neighborhood. Fultz & Singh will be doing the design work on the renovation.
“We are going to turn it into office space,” Flint said. “I’m more than likely going to end up closing (Method) down. I’m just spending more time on development and real estate, and it makes more sense to do that.”
Flint also owns 1801-1805 Highpoint Ave., occupied by Arts & Letters Creative Co. and a Hive location. Flint bought that building for $445,000 in 2014.
He has owned Hive since 2016 and since has added two more locations – one in Bon Air that opened last year and one at 5901 Patterson Ave. that opened this summer.
The Patterson location is another of Flint’s real estate projects, as he partnered with Spy Rock Real Estate Group to redevelop the former medical office building into a modern design space. The group purchased that property in September 2018 for $500,000.
Flint said he’s looking to add Hive locations in Short Pump and in the Brandermill area of Midlothian.
