An Atlanta-based chain of cosmetic treatment studios has found a place to tuck into the Richmond market.

Ovme plans to open its first Richmond-area outpost next week in River Road Shopping Center, company spokeswoman Hanna Forssenius said in an email.

The 2,000-square-foot studio was previously home to a Country Curtains store. It has been outfitted with nine treatment rooms offering services such as hair removal, Botox, lip filler and anti-aging procedures.

Ovme was founded in 2018 and has 12 locations. The company’s only other existing Virginia studio is located in Fairfax. Other studios are in Georgia, Maryland, Pennsylvania, Texas, North Carolina, Illinois and Tennessee.

Ovme offers a membership program that runs from $50 to about $100 per month and provides discounts on procedures, according to its website. The studio also offers procedures on an individual basis to customers without memberships.

Just as Ovme makes its entrance to River Road, menswear store Beecroft & Bull is planning to move out of the neighborhood in favor of the Libbie-Grove corridor.

Starbucks is expected to open a coffee shop at River Road Shopping Center’s former BB&T branch. A rezoning application for the cafe was approved by the Henrico Board of Supervisors in September. A company spokeswoman said last month a date hadn’t been set for when the location would open.

Interesting 180 degree shift for this space. Once a destination to buy curtains, now a place to have them removed.
