Enterprise Community Development is requesting a continuance to the June 6 meeting for its special-use request to allow a four-story building with 43 apartments and ground-floor commercial space at 1203 E. Brookland Park Blvd. The continuance is requested to allow for parking on an adjacent lot.
Chesterfield supervisors to vote on county’s FY23 budget

The supervisors are expected to vote to adopt the county’s fiscal year 2023 budget and set tax rates at the meeting.
The overall proposed FY23 budget is $1.8 billion, a $185.3 million increase compared to the FY22 budget. The proposed budget would reduce the real estate tax rate by 3 cents and allocate millions of dollars toward workforce compensation and retention efforts.

Chesterfield to hold Upper Magnolia Green project meeting
Chesterfield Planning Commission Chairman Tommy Owens will host an information meeting about proposed development of the so-called Upper Magnolia Green property near Moseley on April 14.
The meeting is for county residents to provide feedback on the proposal and learn about the project. It would rezone 2,400 acres to make way for a 1,700-acre technology park and hundreds of homes.
The meeting will be held from 6-8 p.m. in the auditorium of Cosby High School at 14300 Fox Club Parkway. The meeting won’t be streamed and will be held in-person only, according to a county news release.
Staff from the county’s economic development, planning, transportation and utilities departments will be at the meeting.
Powhatan supervisors OK separate proposals for an inn, restaurant
The Powhatan Board of Supervisors set the stage for additions to the county’s hospitality scene last week.
The board approved a conditional-use permit requested by Robert Hudson to turn a farmhouse into a four-bedroom inn. The farmhouse is at 2521 Huguenot Springs Road on a 132-acre property.
The property, which is near the intersection of Huguenot Springs and Manakin roads, would also feature a tea house established in an existing structure there.
The farmhouse is considered a “country inn,” which is a use in the county zoning ordinance that allows a small-scale hotel that offers overnight accommodations with up to 20 rooms and may include a full-service restaurant. The owner may or may not live on the property.
The supervisor also approved a rezoning tied to a proposed restaurant across the street from South Creek shopping center. DJM Ventures Inc., which is tied to Mark and Susan Ferreri, is now able to open a restaurant on a 1.3-acre site at 2125 Anderson Highway.
