A Shelby isn’t your typical used car.
Nevertheless CarLotz, a local startup car consignment company, has a cherry 1968 Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 in its inventory priced to sell at $105,000.
Founder Michael Bor said such a vehicle is far from the norm for CarLotz.
This particular Shelby was modified to replicate a similar car used in the movie “Gone in 60 Seconds,” known as Eleanor. It’s a show car owned by a Richmonder.
“It wins pretty much every show it enters,” Bor said.
The price range of cars listed with CarLotz range between $4,900 and $40,000, so the Shelby is clearly off the charts.
Bor said the Shelby, which has been listed with CarLotz for about two weeks, likely won’t sell as quickly as its cars usually do.
“There have been no offers but a lot of calls and emails,” Bor said. “This is not a car that’s gong to sell in a week.”
