A $5.5 million apartment complex is well underway in Jackson Ward.
The 54-unit building, a joint effort by developers Ron Stallings of Walker Row Partnership and Robin Miller of Miller and Associates, broke ground in September. The building at 1 W. Jackson St. is appropriately named 1 West Jackson.
Stallings said the apartments, which should rent for between $800 and $1,000 a month, should be finished in April.
BizSense reported in June that the developers were working on a plan for a row of town houses on the plot directly across the street, which they also own.
Stallings said those plans remain in flux.
“We’re not sure yet if it’s going to be town homes or apartments,” he said. “It’s going to be market driven. Whenever the bank will give us money.”
