A fight broke out Monday at the corner of West Broad and Adams streets, all in the name of show business.

Production crews set up shop at the Richmond intersection to film scenes for “Killing Kennedy,” a National Geographic made-for-TV movie starring Rob Lowe.

The scene depicted a minor altercation.

The scene depicted a minor altercation.

As part of Monday’s action, old cars and trucks lined West Broad Street across from the Sara Belle and Neil November Theatre. Nearby shop windows were decorated to fit the film’s time period: Props included signs that said “Hands off Cuba!”

Two groups of young men acted out a minor altercation.

The crew also enlisted the services of Richmond Trolley Company to have one of its trolleys drive through the scene.

“Killing Kennedy,” which is based on a book by Bill O’Reilly about the life and death of John F. Kennedy, began filming last month in Richmond.

The production is expected to do business with more than 100 local vendors. It will shoot in the city through July 3.

Film making is good for Virginia and Richmond! Production casts and crews stay in our apartments and hotels, they dine in our restaurants, they rent cars and they hire local talent. Watching movies filmed in Richmond adds an extra dimension to entertainment. We hope another production company picks Richmond as their location soon.
