After six years of using Richmond-based Martin Agency for its advertising, Goochland-based CarMax is taking its creative work out of town.

“I think both of us are cut from the same cloth of being very meticulous creative people; we’re almost neurotic about the details of things,” said Jason St. Peter. “I felt really good about us blending our families together.” 

The Richmond ad giant recently upgraded a wing known as “3West” inside its 160,000-square-foot office at 1 Shockoe Plaza.

Taradel, which was founded by Jim Fitzgerald in 2003, will operate as a division of UpSwell, specializing in self-service, e-commerce marketing.
