Mugshot Coffee, which will be part cafe and part souvenir portrait studio, is planning to open in the former Jimmy John’s space at the mall.

It would be the new chain’s first location in Virginia, and second overall. Its initial location opened last winter in Golden Corral’s home state of North Carolina.

Duke Dodson is preparing to open Parlay Bar & Lounge at 3117 W. Leigh St., where he’ll also relocate his Graybo’s Sports Cards retail shop from Grace Street.

It’s one of at least three known locations that the coffee chain has in the works in Chesterfield County, with potentially more planned region-wide.

Brick Fire will open in the former Maya space on East Grace St. Pizza Hut is taking over a storefront next to Four Brothers Bistro across from the Lombardy Kroger.

The breakfast and lunch spot is getting in on the action in Central Henrico, with the revitalization of Virginia Center Commons underway up the road and Sauer Properties’ major development planned in the vicinity.

Hog Haven Farm is moving into the former Peddler on Pine Street space with plans to use the building as a prep kitchen for its growing business that’s fueled by its popular breakfast sandwiches. 

Fat Kid started out at the now-shuttered Hatch Local food hall in Manchester and will replace Sub Central, which has been in business since 2006. Its owner also previously owned Mr. Submarine.

The concept is a change of course from what was initially planned for the building when the owners of New York Deli bought the building in September 2022.

After more than a year of legal and regulatory wrangling, KavaClub looks to finally be on its way to selling its namesake drink.
