The 4-acre food truck park from local entrepreneur Phu Nguyen is aiming to open next month as a new amenity for the office park and making use of unused land that’s planned for eventual development.

KavaClub, which will produce and serve a non-alcoholic and psychoactive drink, filed a motion in Richmond Circuit Court seeking a temporary injunction that would allow it to open for business at 1529 W. Main St.

It’s the second food option at Short Pump Town Center to close this year, following Rock Bottom Restaurant & Brewery’s closure in the spring.

Justin Cropper, whose resume includes stints at Union Market, Don’t Look Back, Lemaire and Millie’s, is opening Wishbone with partner Ginny Sowers.

Initially founded as a pop-up in 2021, Sprezza opened in the former Morton’s The Steakhouse space late last year. It’s headed to a Lombardy Street building that was most recently home to Brun cigar lounge.

The restaurant started as a catering business about a year and a half ago, when owner Ida Hite left her job in healthcare.

Longtime friends Arthur Grant, Justin Laughter and Chris Mayo are behind the new venture. The trio once played music together in middle- and high-school bands.

Earlier this summer Ian Newell debuted Celeste Farms, a 4-acre farm at 7001 Osborne Turnpike in Varina that hosts multi-course dinners, private events and more.
