There’s a new member of the BizSense crew.
Burl Rolett has joined BizSense as our summer reporter.
During his internship, Burl will cover startups, restaurants, the business of sports and a little bit of everything else.
After his stint in the BizSense news lair, Burl will return to Lexington, Va., for his senior year at Washington & Lee, where he’s working on a degree in journalism. Burl is the second W&L General to land a spot at BizSense.
Burl hails from Peoria Heights, Ill., population 6,100, once the home of a Pabst Blue Ribbon brewery. (The town still holds a grudge over the factory’s 1982 closing, and Burl refuses to drink the stuff, despite its unofficial status as the People’s Beer of Richmond.)
Although he’s from Illinois, Burl is no Cubs fan: He proudly roots for the St. Louis Cardinals.
When he’s not chasing a story for BizSense, you might find Burl working on his coin collection or scouting for the upcoming fantasy football season.
Loyal BizSense readers, please welcome Burl. Check out his work below, and drop him a line with a news tip or story idea at [email protected].
