Three properties in Goochland County landed at the top of December’s local home sales: two brand new homes on the same street in Kinloch and a 9,300-square-foot mansion with extensive amenities.

Drawing in plenty of homebuyers in an ongoing age-restricted subdivision project in Chesterfield, a builder has another 20 acres under contract elsewhere in the county to add another batch of homes for seniors.

Situated on one-eighth of an acre and bounded by alleyways, a plot nestled between Carytown and the Fan has been approved for six new modern-style townhomes.

Consolidating its online listing platform with those of two other groups, a local Realtors association is putting agents’ listings in front of more eyes in more parts of the state.

Originally listed for $2.2 million, a house and 5-acre fairway plot were split up into two properties and both quickly sold, with the home fetching $1.16 million.

Encouraged by last year’s sales of two homes in the neighborhood, a developer is raising seven more in Church Hill to be priced at about $400,000.

A large home in Windsor Farms landed at the top of last month’s residential sales, edging out a Manakin-Sabot house and exceeding its original listing price by more than $200,000.

As it continues to struggle with the town of Ashland over a large residential proposal, a developer has received the first green light in the county for a much less dense subdivision, with about 40 homes on 260 acres.
