The Pit and The Peel will join two office tenants in the mixed-use project rising on the site of the old school property at 5800 Patterson Ave.
The restaurant space at 309 N. Laurel St. is swapping out brisket and cornbread for dumplings and ramen.
It will have a drive-thru, according to plans filed with Henrico County, something the coffee chain’s existing Gayton Crossing store doesn’t.
The retailer took 19,000 square feet at 11732 W. Broad St. In other Short Pump news, burger chain Five Guys plans to open a restaurant at 12300 W. Broad St.
The 5,000-square foot space previously home to Italian restaurant Amici di Enzo is now the local sports bar chain’s fifth location.
Hang Pham opened Sen Organic Farmers Market at 2820 W. Cary St., directly across from her Sen Organic Small Plate restaurant.
“It’s just offensive enough to get people’s attention,” co-owner Trey Owens said of their creation’s name. “We leaned on each other to appreciate each other’s culture.”
