Chamber exits workforce development, cuts 1 job

Kim Scheeler, president and chief executive, said the organization is stepping back from workforce development so as not to complicate the efforts of the newly formed board. As a result, one position was eliminated. The Chamber is focusing more on high speed rail, according to Scheeler.

Famous artist’s painting found in Circuit City’s closet

Systemax, Inc. has won a bankruptcy auction to acquire Circuity City’s intellectual property and its e-commerce business, according to a Reuters. The deal is still subject to approval by the bankruptcy court in Richmond, which is scheduled to decide tomorrow.
