Chester staffing firm cuts 261 jobs

Chester-based AdvantaStaff Inc. has notified the state that it will lay off 261 employees. VDOT cutting 230 jobs, 90 in Richmond

The Virginia Department of Transportation announced that it will lay off 230 employees throughout the commonwealth. The cuts go into effect June 6. Martin Agency layoffs 60 days later

None of the 24 employees laid off from Martin have taken advantage of the program, according to the Agency Spy which concludes that they must still be on the job hunt.

Local career site goes pro bono

One Richmond job search site has stopped charging employers money to post jobs and browse resumes. RichmondJobSource.com was started in early 2007 by Rich Ringrose.
