Forget Big Brother. From its headquarters in Powhatan County local startup InteliTap, tracks kegs of beer from the brewery to the moment its contents are poured into a customer’s frosty glass. The company can notify a bar owner anywhere in the world when a barkeep is a little too generous with a pint of the good stuff. And business is set to grow 80 percent this year.
22 was the loneliest number
Legend Brewery is diversifying its lineup. The 15-year-old business will add six packs and expand its South Side brewery and bottling operation. The reason: Founder and Owner Tom Martin sold Legend’s sister distributorship (Legend Distributing) to Brown Distributing Company. Martin expects demand to rise now that Brown’s larger sales force will be promoting Legend’s brews.
