The out-of-town restaurant chain has begun taking a bite out of Short Pump, as it looks to expand its brand across metro Richmond and beyond.

“Sometimes you have to look back and reevaluate everything,” said Kathleen Richardson, while discussing a wave of closures that has cut her store count in half.

After nearly four years dishing out hot dogs on the go, Robert Stout has found a place to park in one of Richmond’s most sought-after neighborhoods.

The proprietors of a well-established Northside diner are branching off to open another restaurant a few feet away.

The once-fast-growing Richmond-based coffeehouse is closing yet another location.

“We’ve designed a bar that is going to be surrounded by TVs so it will give a stadium effect,” owner Kevin McGrath said. “Our motto here is, ‘Every day is game day.'”

The owners of a downtown restaurant have scrapped their concept after nine months and gone back to a model they know well.

The well-known Richmond restaurant has plans to try out a new waterfront setting in Hampton Roads.

After stints in Forest Hill, Church Hill and Manchester, a local chocolate maker is up and running in her new downtown digs.

“Even when we were riding around in the Chicken Fiesta van scoping out spots, people would come up and ask if we were about to open a restaurant in the area,” general manager Shana Greenbaum said.
